Cayla is an Event rider/Trainer and assistant trainer for Ashley Carr and Vicki Baker Eventing, LLC with a particular love and interest in promoting Mustangs and OTTB’s in Eventing and has become well-known as a Mustang trainer. She is a graduate of the CSU Equine Science program, a two-time finalist in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, an established TIP trainer, and particularly passionate about starting young event horses. Over the last six years, Cayla has trained or assisted in the training of over 40 Mustangs, placing many of them in successful, competitive homes. Cayla believes that the more awareness she can bring to the versatility of the breed, the more adoptable these horses will become. Cayla shows her 2016 Mustang Makeover 5th place finisher, Atalanta in Eventing. The pair won 10th place in Novice at the 2018 American Eventing Championships, and successfully competed at Training level in 2019, with hopes to move up to the Preliminary level in 2020. In addition, Cayla plans to compete at the 2020 RRP TB Makeover in KY with her newest OTTB, Fortunata.
Cayla started as a working student with VBE in 2018 and has recently been named our assistant trainer allowing Vicki and Ashley the ability to keep their quality program going strong while they travel nationally with the young riders.
